KINGSPORT — Debra Bridwell of Eastman Credit Union will retire after 35 years with the company.

Bridwell is currently senior vice president and chief marketing and facilities officer of ECU. His retirement will begin on March 1.

Bridwell joined ECU’s management team in 2005.

“I consider it a blessing to have spent the majority of my career in one of the best organizations in the region and to have had the opportunity to serve the employees and members within its management team”, Bridwell said. “And although I have enjoyed working very much, I look forward to retirement and all that it holds with joy and enthusiasm.”

ECU’s current chief marketing officer, Kevin Hill, will become the company’s vice president and chief brand officer. According to the release, Hill will oversee various departments including facilities, marketing, corporate communications, service excellence programs and ECU asset management.

Hill joined ECU in 2005 and was promoted to Branch Manager in 2008. In 2011, he became ECU’s Director of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer in 2015. Hill received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise in 2003 and graduated in 2011 from Leadership Kingsport.

Hill is not the only member of Team ECU to have transferred his title to banking firm Kingsport.

ECU’s Kindle Conkin has been named director of corporate communications. According to the press release, Conkin will lead ECU’s corporate communications and government relations.

She joined ECU in 2005 and is currently its Director and Government Relations and Marketing Specialist. Conkin holds a BA in Communications from the College at Wise at the University of Virginia and a Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Tusculum.

ECU is one of the largest credit unions in the country, with $7.12 billion in assets. The company is a not-for-profit financial services cooperative that serves more than 283,000 members in more than 30 locations. ECU is headquartered in Kingsport.
