Morgan Betancourt, Project Manager, Okland Construction
CONTEXT: Betancourt manages healthcare projects, life science buildings and a new sports complex in the greater Phoenix area. She is currently the Fundraising Chair for Phoenix Affiliate of the ACE Mentor Program. She leads a women’s group in her current organization where she is able to mentor, promote and inspire women in the construction industry.
SOURCE OF PRIDE: “I am very proud to be part of the construction industry. The industry has grown very rapidly over the past 10 years, especially in Arizona. The rapid growth of the industry has challenged and accelerated my growth faster than I could have imagined.
SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “I am inspired by women in the construction industry! In an industry historically male-dominated, women have gone (and continue to go) above and beyond to prove they belong. The women I’ve met and worked with are passionate, detail-oriented, and driven to deliver greater representation on the pitch.
SURPRISING FACT: “I’ve been known to rip a few hearts out before. While in college, I interned at an organ donation company where I helped package body organs to ship for medical technology research.
